This is one of those epic songs. You really have to close your eyes and lie very still on your bed when you listen to this song full blast (don’t you just love that expression – full blast – makes me smile) preferably with earphones. I made friends with this song when I saw The Beach years ago. I loved that film so much I went to see it three times when it was showing.
It gives me goosebumps every time the beautiful instrumental part rolls in – about six minutes into the song, and when the beat just literally creeps in again at the pivotal point – just magic. And Ashcroft (originally from The Verve) is always stellar.
So because I believe your eyes should be closed when you listen to this song, I didn’t post the video. This is a strange edit from Jim Jarmusch’s Stranger than Paradise.
